Our Story

the NB cookie in front of parilement

The Canadian Cookie Mark began with Canada's first official provincial cookie.

Created to celebrate New Brunswick, it brought together local ingredients, agriculture, tourism and community into one simple idea: food has the power to tell the story of place.

If one cookie could celebrate one province, what would happen if every province and territory had the opportunity to tell its own story?

The Canadian Cookie Mark was created to answer that question.

Each province or territory leads its own search for their signature cookie that reflects the unique ingredients, traditions, culture and people. Every cookie remains locally developed and locally owned while becoming part of  something bigger.

Together, these individual stories create a national celebration of Canadian agriculture, food tourism, community and identity.

The vision doesn't end with thirteen cookies.

It grows into a Canadian Cookie Box, bringing together every province and territory in a single collection that allows people to experience Canada one story at a time.

The Canadian Cookie Mark is more than just a collecton of cookies.

It's a celebration of place.
